Concrete Patios in Evergreen Park Sized for Real Life
A patio with room for the table, the chairs and a path around them, sloped so rainwater drains into the yard.
How Do You Plan a Patio You Will Actually Use?
Ask anyone who regrets their patio, and the answer is almost always the same: it is too small. A table and four chairs need more room than most people expect once the chairs are pushed back and someone needs to walk past. So our first questions are about how you will use the space. Dining? A grill? Lounge chairs? A fire pit? A rope or paint outline on the grass lets you test the size with your own chairs. The second set of questions is about water. A patio next to the house must slope away from it, gently and evenly, so rain flows to the lawn or a spot where it can soak in rather than pooling by the door or running toward the basement. Once the size and slope are settled, the sod and loose soil are excavated, crushed stone is compacted in layers and the forms are set. A typical patio slab runs around four inches deep with steel embedded. You can choose a broom finish, which is simple and slip-resistant, or a stamped and colored finish that looks like stone. Joint lines follow a layout we sketch beforehand, curing gets the time it needs, and once the forms come out the soil is restored along the edges and the yard is cleaned.
What Does a Patio Project Include?

Tamped stone layer

Soil returned along the patio and debris removed.
What Are the Steps to a New Patio?
Design and quote
We mark the layout, confirm the slope and provide a written quote covering size, thickness, base and finish.
Excavate and form
Turf comes up, stone goes down in tamped layers and the forms carry the fall away from the house.
Pour and finish
Concrete is poured and finished broomed or stamped, jointed and cured. The yard is cleaned up.
